Many hands make hearing work

It was all hands on deck on to get my ears working at my first "switch on" appointment (10th Jan). Between you and me, I quite liked all the attention! Shhhhhh, we'll keep that our little secret though ok!

Isn't my big sis clever? She took this pic.

Switched on

The last few days have been pretty hectic for me because I got what mummy and daddy call, "my ears".

Despite having a little scare on Saturday night with a burst eardrum, I managed to still make my date with my buddies over at the SCIC to have my cochlear implant switched on. Some little kids freak out, but oh no, not me! I smiled!

My audiologist, Paula is only going to give me a little bit of sound at a time, to make sure it doesn't get too overwhelming for me. So at the moment, about half of my expected hearing is working and the volume is turned down pretty low. Here's a picture with my mum just after my second appointment today (11th Jan).

Mummy thought I would be strong willed and try and pull the earpiece off but I have only had it in my mouth once since I've got it. I actually really like sound so I'm going to keep it on! Well, that is as long as there's always something else to stick in my mouth!
