Happy and sad news
Well the goods news is that I'm no longer on oxygen. How ironic is this - I ditched it the day I was due, the 15th June. So there is no more tripping on cords for mummy or daddy. Here is a picture with my Nanny Lizzy a couple of days after my 'graduation'.
The very sad news for my mummy and daddy is that I was diagnosed on Friday 23rd June with a severe to profound hearing loss in both ears. They don't know why yet - mummy and daddy say they are entering a whole new battleground.
Anyways, I don't know any differently. I'm just a happy, regular little kid who loves cuddles, sleeping with mummy and my milk. I am going to Hearing Australia in one week to be fitted with hearing aids. Maybe it will help me hear, and maybe it won't but this is the first step in a very long road ahead. One thing I know for certain is that this won't make mummy and daddy love me any less, rather, all the more!
Fattening up
One of the beautiful nurses from the hospital came today (Wednesday 7 June) to weigh me. I'm now 2.73kgs so I'm fattening up into a nice little plum pudding. Mummy says she can tell easily how much weight I am gaining because I was so little to begin with and it is obvious when a new roll appears. I have a little roll around each wrist - "bring them on" says mummy!!!
And after the bath ...
And after the bath ... I was so crashed, I fell asleep on Poppy's lap. I love bath time! As you can see, I'm still on oxygen but am having another download next Wednesday, so with any luck will be off it next Thursday. Mummy takes the oxygen away from me during my bath so I can have a bit of time without anything attached to me. Ooooh it feels so nice too!
Bathing with big sis
I haven't written for a while because I've been so busy getting adjusted to my new and permanent home! I love it here!!! I came home on Friday 26 May at about 1.30pm - 67 days after I was first born. Since I've been home, I've been a little angel and mummy can't believe the difference between me and my big, very gregarious (aka loud) sister! Here we are having a bath - Pops was holding me while mummy washed my tummy.
